Upsetting the apple cart

Apple is suspending sales of its new iPhone 4S at its China stores after fans desperate to get their hands on it fought with a security and threw eggs at an official outlet.

The decision was made following an incident at its Beijing store in the upmarket Sanlitun district. Fans who had lined up overnight became agitated when the store refused to open – apparently concerned that the large crowd would be a safety issue.

This incident may turn into a PR nightmare for Apple to alienate fans in its second-largest and fastest-growing market.

But more ironically, it’s funny how a product that’s made in China is not available there.
