One killed every hour

It has been one year since the Syrian uprising began. Since then, President Bashar al-Assad’s government has been trying to quell the revolution using military might.

Dozens of towns have been destroyed. Tens of thousands have been detained. And close to 10,000 innocent men, women and children have lost their lives.

Put into perspective, that’s more than one killing every hour, every day, for an entire year. And the deadly clock continues to tick.

Yet, the world’s leaders remain unresolved in taking action due to political side-taking.

But as citizens of the world, we should side with peace. We must continue to pressure our leaders to stop this legacy of blood.
