Lost da Vinci discovered

A Leonardo da Vinci mural, lost since the 16th century, has been discovered behind another fresco in Florence, Italy.

Historians believe that the lost da Vinci, titled The Battle of Anghiari, was intentionally preserved when artist Giorgio Vasari erected a wall in front of it, upon which he then created his mural, The Battle of Marciano.

Restorers are now determining if the masterpiece is restorable.
