Facebook fowl up

Thankfully, yesterday’s earthquake off the coast of Indonesia didn’t cause any tsunamis. But in Thailand, KFC’s Facebook page was flooded with angry comments.

As Thais feared that a tsunami might hit their coasts, the marketers in charge of KFC Thailand’s fanpage posted this message:

“Let’s hurry home and follow the earthquake news. And don’t forget to order your favorite KFC menu.”

Obviously, netizens found this hard to stomach. KFC eventually removed the post and replaced it with an apology.

It goes to show that you don’t need a secret recipe to have good taste. All you need is common sense.
